Hair
Thank you for shopping our at home hair tests. Were you aware that hair is the second-most active metabolic tissue in the body? Blood, perspiration, the environment, biology, hormones and enzymes influence hair tissue. Hair can give us information about what is happening inside the cells and organs, and what is being stored within the body. For instance, if the environment contains mercury, a higher concentration of it will also be found in organs such as the brain. Since protein is synthesized in the hair follicle, elements are permanently integrated into the hair with no further exchange or balance with other tissues. For the hundreds of essential enzymes our body requires to work, nutrient elements like magnesium, chromium, zinc, copper, and selenium are needed.
Minerals are required for essential body functions, too. During a hair analysis test the mineral level detected can be used to draw conclusions about the levels in your organs and other tissues in your body. In hair, toxic elements can be 200 to 300 times more abundant than in blood or urine. A hair analysis test is therefore a suitable method of identification for the recent exposure to toxic metals and toxic elements such as arsenic, copper, cadmium, lead, antimony and mercury.
