Preparation:

Fasting is not required. Send the specimen via overnight mail Monday through Thursday only. Review patient instructions carefully and choose the best day to start the test. Stop antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, probiotic supplements, PPIs, and Bismuth 2 weeks before collection. Stop aspirin, NSAIDs, digestive enzymes, laxatives, activated charcoal, betaine HCl, antacids, and bentonite clay 2 days before collection. Do not collect during active bleeding from hemorrhoids or menstruation. Wait 4 weeks after a colonoscopy or barium enema. Avoid urine or water contamination. Refrigerate the specimen before shipping. Do not freeze.

6-8 business days. May take longer based on weather, holiday, or lab delays.
